Sunday (the 15th) started out grand. I went to the barn and was finally gonna ride Harley. I groomed him, got him all sleek and shiny and trimmed, saddled him up and went to work. Me and one of the boys were practicing walk trot stops, (hopefully we'll be showing in this soon) and Harley was doing great. Well, I started loping and he was fine. Another rider was heading toward us so I turned Harley around and when his body got straitened out, he took one loping stride and cut loose.... ...
Its said that we looked like a competition on a bucking bronco... ...Harley started bucking...and didn't stop. It was front end bucking, he never kicked his back legs, but catapolted forward with his head low. I was losing my reins in the first buck and grabbed quickly for them, only to get a fistful of tangle and Harley's mane, yes, fistfull of mane,
When Harley got to the front there was a gate and my daddy on his horse. Harley decided to turn right. Being completely unprepared, I was thrown over sideways, my right leg going completely over his neck and head. I landed on my left upper hip and lower back then bounced enough from the impact to roll over and be face flat in the dirt... ... ... It nocked the breath out of me, and the pain from the impact was so bad at that moment i couldn't seem to move though I tried, all I could do was try to yell and it only came out in a groan, becuase I had no spare breath to use.... and scarilly my head was only about a foot from the concrete wall,....that coulda been BAD...
My daddy and Matt abndoned there horses to reach me and Eddie left his horse, only to end up climbing and bouncing over an 8 foot tall fence. I DO NOT like being thrown from a horse and having my face in the dirt, I just dont like it!!!!! Eddie put his jacket under my head and daddy checked me out. Matt was there ready to do anything. Even my mother, who is afraid of horses, scrambled through the fence and grabbed Harley and Dee who were loose. I was able to get up later, but wow, was in a lot of pain!!
~
I ended up going to the imaging center for X-Rays, which came back negative for breaks or fractures. I have damaged my gludias muscles, which the Dr. said felt like jello from the impact, and I stoked up, or jammed, my lower back and hip, creating inflamation and a lot of swelling....not to mention holding host to a serving platter size black bruise on my hip, and on my tail bone area.
More exegerative good news....thanks in part to Harley being stupid...... I had to have a ROOT CANALL TODAY!!!!!!
All this crap because of a throw off a bucking horse, with a landing that wasnt my worst... go figure.
But, this is my story of why I havent been social on DA for the past while, I am doing much better, still sore and healing, but on the mend.
I am not allowed to ride until I get a helmet though, thats the second time Ihave almost hit my head on a wall from a fall... ...No doubt miracles happen, well, this one was another. This could've been so much worse, but He said no.
So, I am going to bed, in hopes of a full nights rest for once. Hope you enjoyed my story,

Gosh, I hope that you do well with your teeth, it's amazing you could stand having a root canal when you don't like the dentist, I heard that they're the worst! Lucky you didn't hit that concrete wall, and I am amazed that you didn't fracture anything, that impact must have hurt, and it sounds like you got winded, the worst feeling to be struggling for air. Good luck with your recovery, and I hope you get some more sleep

If only dogs could pur... ;D
Honestly the root canal went so well it surprised me, and the relief is pricless, I was in so much pain I dont think I could describe it enough. I fell asleep last night, woke up to get ready for school and hadnt moved. I slept so soundly. I am still tired, but feel so much better
Thanks so much hun for your support, I am soing much better.

I was in bad shape, I was pale and my eyes dark and sunk in....I was very withdrawn to, it hurt to do anything....But by the night after the root canall, it was like nothing happened, its not even finished and I feel like 100 bucks!!!!
Yeah, I rode today for 30 min. I was stiff, got a few cramps, I forgot to breath and my posture was al stiff and coincided with the horses movements, but I got better. My bigest fear now, is the spontanious thought that he willcome out from under me. Falling is NOT fun, the landing is so Hard, you seem fine then all of a sudden the horse scares you. it'll take me a while but, I'll keep riding. 2 times before this, I was flipped over my horses neck and shoulders becuase at a canter, he tripped and went almost down to his chest. It threw me onto his neck and becuase he was scared, he bucked his back legs to get off the ground and run, which flipped me over. Another close encounter with almost hitting the wall. Though this wasn't my hardest fall, it was the hardest to get over. It was like falling over a legde, everything just dissapeared, my dad had to lead me around bareback with my eyes closed and arms out to refigure my balance and it took a while to not be scared. It all takes time though. I will get over it......oh, I have helmet now, too. the barn owner sais I cant ride unless its on, becuase its his and he let me borrow it!!!!!

I need to find somewhere to take riding lessons again. I haven't ridden a horse in like two years and it's positively killing me! It sucks not being able to ride everyday or to have my own horse. Someday....

Yes, getting a horse is one of my most important goals. I just can't wait until the day comes!
